Live Action Quick Tips

Did you know….

No one is really sure where the term barbecue originated. The conventional wisdom is that the Spanish, upon landing in the Caribbean, used the wordbarbacoa to refer to the natives’ method of slow-cooking meat over a wooden platform. By the 19th century, the culinary technique was well established in the American South, and because pigs were prevalent in the region, pork became the primary meat at barbecues. Corn bread emerged as the side dish of choice, owing largely to the fact that in humid Southern climates, corn grew better than wheat (which was prone to fungal infections). Barbecue allowed an abundance of food to be cooked at once and quickly became the go-to menu item for large gatherings like church festivals and neighborhood picnics (content.time.com)

On this warm sunny day in Santa Clara,Ca my comrade Justin Englehaupt and I decided to have Jon Jon’s barbecue to enjoy the weather and eat one of America’s most craved delights.

We both wanted the tri-tip sandwich but we also both wanted the hotlink sandwich so rather than lose our minds we decided to split each item in half so we can indulge in multiple taste bud satisfaction within our palates.

A good reason to always have a friend with you when you go to a place where you may like multiple dishes! Hint hint..

Back to this delectable treat….

The tri-tip could be stripped away just using my tongue being that it was so tender with a sinful sexy look that catches your eye. The hotlink was a long monstrosity of a dog with a big punch of flavor as well. The sauce was a sweet savory barbecue sauce that sticks to the tongue and you have to swallow 2-3 times to make sure you resolve all of that flavor residing in your mouth. We’re living the dream in barbecue bliss! True live action eating!!

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Food truck life is fun, exciting and gives you that party vibe while you are engaged in eating. If that is not living then what is entertainment eating all about?!

Go on out there people and find yourself a food truck event and begin live action eating in your life. I promise you that you won’t be disappointed!
