Live Action Quick Tips
Did you know….
Pastrami is a brisket (or other cut) of beef that has been cured in a mixture of sugar, spices and garlic and then smoked before cooking. While many people associate this savory meat with their favorite New York-style deli, the recipe for pastrami actually originated in southeastern Europe.
“Pastirma” (Turkish for pastrami) is believed to have first been cooked up in Kayseri, a town in the east of Turkey, during the rise of the Ottoman Empire (between the 13th and 15th centuries). Legend has it the horsemen of that region preserved their meat by curing it and then hanging it down from their saddles and pressing on it with their legs as they rode. “Pastirma,” as it turns out, is derived from the Turkish word “bastirmak,” which means “to press.”(livescience.com)

“Trev, this is a crock of crap! I’ve had delicious pastrami sandwiches and they are outstanding. You’re telling me that this fast food hole in the wall tastes better than those?!”
“Yes I am!!”
Let me describe this in a different way so you can be clear that I’m not saying that you should dump those other great pastrami spots.
I’m sure you have been to restaurants and tasted delicious duck fat fries or garlic fries and they have been extremely tasty but would you ever say those are better tasting and satisfying and lustrous as McDonald’s fries?
I think McDonald’s fries have some kind of patent on those things and I feel the same way about Togo’s Pastrami.
I have eaten $20 Pastrami sandwiches and tried different types of pastrami cuts from deli’s all over the place; however, there have been None that have a similar flavor and taste like the pastrami of Togo’s.
It is thin and delicate and it wrinkles up perfectly on the sandwich while it ignites you with the peppery delight of luscious flavor in every bite. It just Wow’s me with every heat sinking bite!
I always make sure they add everything on my sandwich when I’m there which includes mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles and pepperoncinis.
Every ingredient compliments the Pastrami and holds it up like an Olympic winner! True live action eating!! Good job Togo’s!!
Keep in mind that Togo’s has order numbers that help you order fast and quickly; this delectable dish is the #9.
You can order the whole sandwich or even do a half and half with soup or salad. In the picture you will see the half an half which is a pretty good size portion of food and I guarantee you will leave satisfied!
Thanks for joining me on today’s adventure. I look forward to seeing you on the next run. Keep hope alive!
