Live Action Quick Tips

Did you know….

The burrito made its way into the US in the 1900s. The first mention of a burrito on a U.S. menu was in the 1930s at the El Cholo Spanish Café in Los Angeles, though burritos had likely been making the rounds in the states before then. California is still well-known for its burritos, with the Mission burrito—arguably the most popular style of burrito in the United States—originating in San Francisco. The Mission burrito is wrapped up in a tortilla and then again in aluminum foil—this is the sort that is commonly served at restaurants like Chipotle, Qdoba, and Freebirds.

Once the US got hold of it, the burrito started to cross cultural boundaries. Now there are burritos made with Thai chicken or Chinese pork. Then there’s the breakfast burrito, a tortilla stuffed with eggs, potato, and bacon. The breakfast burrito fad, which started catching on around 1975, found its way into mainstream fast food restaurants like McDonald’s, Sonic, and Hardee’s by the 1990s. And the rest, as they say, is history.(todayifoundout.com)

It’s Thursday people and one more day until the weekend arrives again!

Man that makes me feel good!

Another thing that makes me feel good is a flavorful packed up juicy burrito!

Let’s talk about it..

So every Thursday they cater in food at my job and boy was I starving. I had a serious need of some serious hangover fighting carbs from cheering on the Warriors versus the Rockets in the NBA playoffs. Good job Warriors!

If you have ever had a hangover then you know there are certain foods that will do the trick to get you out of zombie mode and at least functional until you sleep or drink again.

These foods include every hard core greasy carb meals you can find like bacon burgers, pizza, fast food and one of my favorite hangover meals, Mexican Food!

Something about beans, rice, marinated meat, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa all wrapped up in a tortilla can bring a dead man back to life!

And let me tell you this place MexCal Taqueria is a force to be reckoned with!

With the catering they brought in pork, beef, veggie and chicken burritos with tortilla chips and salad.

Seeing these foil wrapped goodies made the saliva in my mouth increase so heavily to the point I was making slurp sounds while standing in line to get my plate.

I cut the burritos in half for everyone because each of them were at least a foot long and about 3 inches thick.

I decided to go for the marinated pork super burrito which contains marinated pork, rice, beans, onions, cilantro, salsa, guacamole, sour cream and cheese in a handmade tortilla.

Let me just say that if you don’t like spicy food then you may want to stay away from this beauty; but if you do like spicy food then you are in a for a treat my friend!

The pork was soft and tender and marinated with a spicy sauce that just enhanced the burrito to extreme finesse! The other ingredients combined made every bite so utterly fantastic that it was hard to not eat two of these monster masterpieces all to myself!

I could feel my energy being restored in my body with every bite! Thank God for burritos!

I also made sure to try the Grilled Beef Super Burrito which has the same ingredients except a different meat flavor with the succulent grilled beef that melts in your mouth at every bite. Beef so good you wish you had the entire steak in front of you to attack it! True live action eating!

I have to say that these were some of the best burritos that I have tasted! I highly recommend that you try this place out if you are in the bay area or for offices then this is a great place to cater in lunch! Good job MexCal!

Thanks for joining me on today’s adventure! I look forward to seeing you on the next run! Keep hope alive!

Eating is an enjoyable way of life.Live it..Learn it..Love it!
