Live Action Quick Tips
Did you know….
Southwestern cuisine—from the region that covers New Mexico, Arizona, the bottom of Colorado, and Utah—looks and sounds a lot like Mexican, born of Spanish influence on indigenous tribes like the Hopi and Zuni. It relies heavily on regionally available produce in its fresh and preserved forms: squashes, blue corn, chiles like the Hatch and Chimayo. Green chile is king; sopaipillas, a kind of fried bread, are as commonly found as tortillas south of the border. Preserved in amber until the early ’80s, Southwestern cuisine was mostly a tourist attraction to non-natives—just another stop on the road trip after the Grand Canyon.(firstwefeast.com)

So it’s happy hour time and I need something hearty to coat my stomach for all this liquor I am engaging in.
Bread is your friend when you need to soak up liquor so a sandwich of some sort is definitely on my mind.
As I’m looking through the menu, I see a description of a mouth watering sandwich that I must experience. Plus I can get some french fries with it which really makes my day.
It is the Southwest Chicken Sandwich described as Grilled Chicken Breast, Crushed Avocado, Tomato, Onion, Cilantro, Jalapeño Peppers and Chipotle Mayo on a Toasted French Baguette.
Only thing I saw that was missing was sweet succulent bacon to make this masterpiece complete so I told the waiter to add that and now I am ready for the fight!
When the meal arrived I was in awe of the size of the sandwich and beautiful presentation it gave. The chicken looked plump and flavorful and the green of the avocado and jalapenos gave a bright shine as the bread cupped all of it in between.
I dive right in and there is an instant crunch from the french baguette! Cruuunch!
Then I get hit with the avocado, jalapenos, onion, cilantro and chipotle mayo which bring a spark of joy and excitement to my palate at an extreme pace.
The chicken was plump and soft to the chew combined with the applewood bacon that I had added; this dish was a force to be reckoned with. True live action eating!
I have to say that this was one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had! Good job Cheesecake!
