Live Action Quick Tips

Did you know….

Donuts have a somewhat labyrinthine — and, at times, shady — past. From when they arrived in America, doughnuts have pulled themselves up by their bootstraps — and, thanks to a rather ragtag bunch of characters, they are now one of the most iconic American pastries. In fact, Smithsonian.com notes that “in its democratic ethods, its optimism, and its assorted origins, [the doughnut] does seem rather quintessentially American.”

Donuts have become the poster child of everyday indulgence thanks to a melting pot of influential characters, historical happenstance, and sweet tooths — and many, many pans filled with hot oil. Dutch settlers introduced doughnuts to the U.S. when they ended up in Manhattan, then known as New Amsterdam. They called these doughnut predecessors “olykoeks,” or oily cakes, which were fried in pork fat. Formed by dropping dough off the end of a spoon, their name evolved to “oliebollen,” or oily balls, thanks to their irregular round shape. Unlike today, oliebollen were traditionally enjoyed during the Christmas season, and each cook had his or her own, individualized recipe.(food52.com)

Something about a donut just brings a smile to my face!

Actually, it brings a smile to everyone’s face!

Something about that fluffed design of sweetly battered dough with a nectarish glaze all over it just makes my knees shake.

There are all kinds of ways to decorate your donut.

You can make powdered donuts..

Donuts filled with jam.. Strawberry, Raspberry, Apple.. Yum!!

Or the good ol fashioned glazed donut.

Krispy Kreme by far has the best glazed donut I have ever tasted!!

Let’s talk about it..

So I am finally off of work and I have a vision race across my mind like a flash flood.

It was a vision of a cold glass of ice cold milk with my hands on a warm glazed donut with smoky aroma slightly floating in the air entering my mouth.

I begin to bite into it and then I was awake again.

I wipe the drool off of my mouth and I immediately want Krispy Kreme!

I have been eating Krispy Kreme for years and ever since we first met, she has been wonderful to me!

The glazed dress she always wears, with the thin layer of softness that I so utterly enjoy caressing, brings me utmost satisfaction when she is in my hands..

“Hey Trev, Are you talking about your wife or the donut..You are going Rated R on me..”

“Sorry about that..My dear tender ear’ed friend.. I get excited talking about Krispy Kreme!”

Anywhoooo..

The only Krispy Kreme I know close by is in Palo Alto which is 20 minutes away from me, but I am in panic mode right now so I need to find one fast.

I search my phone for the nearest one and to my phone appears a new location just a mile up in Santa Clara,Ca!!

I jump in the car and race down the street..

I enter in and see the glow of a man with glowing arches above his head asking me what he can do for me.

I immediately have him get me half a dozen glazed donuts and then he begins the blessing.

Rather than just give me a couple of donuts in the shelf, he makes me brand new fresh Krispy Kreme bundles of joy donuts.

We small talk a bit, while I pace and continuously wipe the drool from my mouth.

I almost drop my wallet while I am trying to pay because I want them so bad.

I get home within seconds it feels like, while I traveled ever so careful and cautiously as if I were driving with the Mona Lisa in my car.

Speed walking upstairs to my apartment I pour my ice cold glass of milk and open the box to see these magnificent pieces of artistic handy work.

Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!!

My hand begins to shake and my eyes water with joy as I place this God given piece of love in my mouth..

I take just enough into my mouth to bite down into this gentle love muffin and I instantly fall into a trance..

While the sweet soft texture dances in my mouth, I take a sip of the ice cold milk which holds hand with her and caresses my palate.

Bite after bite..Chew after chew..Sip after sip…
