Live Action Quick Tips
Did you know….
In 1867, Charles Feltman, a German butcher, opened up the first Coney Island hot dog stand in Brooklyn, New York and sold 3,684 dachshund sausages in a roll during his first year in business He is also credited with the idea of the warm bun.
In 1880 a German peddler, Antonoine Feuchtwanger, sold hot sausages in the streets of St. Louis, Missouri. He would supply white gloves with each purchase so that his customers would not burn their hands while eating the sausage. He saw his profits going down because the customers kept taking the gloves and walking off with them. His wife suggested that he put the sausages in a split bun instead. He reportedly asked his brother-in-law, a baker, for help. The baker improvised long soft rolls that fit the meat, thus inventing the hot dog bun. When he did that, the Hot Dog was born. He called them red hots.
Although the exact origins of the Chicago Dog are not documented, Vienna Beef of Chicago claims the “Chicago-style” Hot Dog was invented by two European immigrants at the Chicago World’s Fair and Columbian Exhibition in 1893.(hotdogchicagostyle.com)

Hot dog of your choice, the burger of your choice
If you live in the East Coast of the United States then I’m sure you can find a hot dog stand on every corner.
Not so much here in the Bay Area of California.
You may find a Wienerschnitzel pretty easy but trying to find a restaurant that actually sells tasty hot dogs is not so easy.
Anytime I find a joint that serves these awesome bite size buggers, I am ready to celebrate!
Today is that day of celebration when I found this hidden castle of great joy and magnificence called Stumpy’s…
Let’s talk about it..
So me, my wife and my in-laws are walking down the street in the Willow Glen area of San Jose, Ca and we are in need of a snack.
We had an appointment to do some art work at one of those pottery shops so we needed something on the go.
We look to our right and see people sitting down outside inhaling these monstrous looking burgers that just looked divine.
So we immediately jump in line to get involved with the commotion and get our fill.
As I looked at the menu, not only did I see a burger selection that would make you drool but then a selection of delicacy crossed my eyes…
A selection of mouth watering goodness…
A selection of a dish that no man can pass up..
Chili Dogs.. Bacon dogs..Shrimp Po Boy Dogs..and more…
My dog of choice today…
The Chi – Dog which is an Old fashion dog with mustard onion, relish, tomato, pickle spear, sport peppers, lettuce, poppy seed bun, and celery salt.
All I can say is that this dog is superior to any other dog I have seen.
It stands up with its chest out like Superman and all you can do is salute it before you dive in.
I give my salute and go in for the kill.
Well not so much an instant kill; this monstrosity is a big boy.
I literally have to open my mouth as wide as possible just to get an inch of it in my mouth.
Each bite filled with a succulent hot dog with all kinds of flavors from the mustard, pickles, tomato’s, etc.
The satisfaction you get from every bite was worth taking a video pick.
I can’t wait to go back!
Bite after bite.. Moan after moan.. Chew after chew..
Nothing but true live action eating! Great job Stumpy’s!
