Happy Easter Everyone!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Before I got to know Jesus, I didn’t know what Easter meant so I thought I’d share that with you.

So Good Friday was when Jesus was hung on the cross to take our sins upon Himself that man wouldn’t have to receive the punishment of sin through God’s judgement.

(Picture if your Dad was a Supreme Court Judge and you broke the law. Your own Father rigged the system to save you from punishment while still being a Just Judge.)

It’s a free gift that God gave us to declare His love for mankind. All you have to do is believe that Jesus did this for you and accept who He is and you can claim this ‘Get out if Jail’ free card.

He was in the grave for 3 days taking our punishment in Hell until God the Father rose Him up from the grave.

Today, represents Jesus rising from the grave that He foretold before His death.

This answered man’s hardest question:

Is there life after death?
Is there a God?
Who is this God?
Is there Heaven?
How do I get there?

This event was more powerful than every miracle Jesus ever did because it seals the deal that eternal life is real and everything He stated while alive was true.

New Living Translation

The Resurrection

1Early on Sunday morning,a as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.

2Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it.3His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. 4The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.

5Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. 7And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”

8The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. 9And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

We Welcome Good Friday in Remembrance of Him!

image

Today is a sad but Glorious Day..This day we remember and celebrate God’s Great Love that He has for mankind of His donation of Blood for our sins of Jesus Christ!

With true testimony, I am a different person from who I was. Changed completely for the good! Good in my own life, my families lives and the lives of others around me.

I don’t know where I would be without Jesus in my life. Most likely dead since I have had so many close calls in my life that God held back for my destiny and purposes today.

If you have not released your pride yet to accept Jesus as Lord then I suggest you give Him a try.

At the worst case, if you pray to an imaginary God then nothing will happen and you can continue to live your life as you please.

If He is real, and He begins to work in your life, I promise you that everything in your life will work to the good.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Thanks for joining me on today’s adventure! I look forward to seeing you on the next run! Keep hope alive! God Bless you and yours!

They hit the Bullseye Right on the Dot over at The Sandwich Spot!

Live Action Quick Tips

Did you know….

1st Century B.C. -The first recorded sandwich was by the famous rabbi, Hillel the Elder, who lived during the 1st century B.C. He started the Passover custom of sandwiching a mixture of chopped nuts, apples, spices, and wine between two matzohs to eat with bitter herbs. The filling between the matzohs served as a reminder of the suffering of the Jews before their deliverance from Egypt and represented the mortar used by the Jews in their forced labor of constructing Egyptian buildings. Because he was the first known person to do this, and because of his influence and stature in Palestinian Judaism, this practice was added to the Seder and the Hillel Sandwich was named after him.

6th to 16th Century – During the Middle Ages, thick blocks of coarse stale bread called trenchers were used in place of plates. Meats and other foods were piled on top of the bread to be eaten with their fingers and sometimes with the aid of knives. The trenchers, thick and stale, absorbed the juice, the grease, and the sauces. At the end of the meal, one either ate the trencher or, if hunger had been satisfied, tossed the gravy-soaked bread to their dogs or given as alms to less fortunate or poor human. Alms were clothing, food, or money that is given to poor people: In the past, people thought it was their religious duty to give alms to the poor. Trenchers were clearly the forerunner of our open-face sandwiches.(whatscookingamerica.net)

Sandwiches are a staple that us Americans love to enjoy. Funny thing is not every culture even knows what it is or even how to eat one.

It can be mysterious, spooky, and a riddle to the mind.

I remember some years back when I took my wife out to get a sandwich and she had no idea how to hold a sandwich or even the proper biting styles.

All the meat and fixings kept falling out and I had to show her how to hold it. She is better now but still lacks that finesse of someone born and raised eating sandwiches and burgers.

I also saw a documentary where some tribal people in a foreign country were given hamburgers for the 1st time.

Meat between bread nearly blew their minds. You can check out that video here.

Anywho…

Today we’ll talk about this new found heavenly location of delight and sustenance called The Sandwich Spot...

Oceanside is situated on the Pacific Coast named quite literally because of its location.   Its history begins in the agriculture-rich San Luis Rey Valley, which was first explored by the Spanish Explorer Portola in 1769, followed by the founding of the Mission San Luis Rey de Francia in 1798.

The Mission, with its vast fruit orchards and cattle raising activities included a large population of Native Americans. The Indians who were gathered at the Mission were called “San Luisenos” by the Franciscans, later shortened to “Luisenos.”  Indians were instrumental in building the Mission compound as they provided the labor.  Mission San Luis Rey was the largest building in California when completed and was the most prosperous of the missions, earning the name “King of the Missions.” (oceansidechamber.com)

Did you know….

Chilli Chicken, Chowmein, Fried Rice with Manchurian, the list goes on… And as our mouth waters, we wonder: are these scrumptious creations Chinese or Indian? Truth be told, this newfangled cuisine coined as Indian Chinese actually exists. It’s true, it’s even featured on Wikipedia. But contrary to popular belief, it isn’t all that trendy. Desi Chinese actually dates back to a few hundred years ago created by the small Chinese community from the Hakka region that settled in Kolkata in the late 19th century. And before you knew it, this version of “Chinese” food had tickled the taste buds of people all over India adopting it in their own way, from Chinese Bhel Puri to Chinese Idli, spring rolls in canteens to momos on the streets.

So what really is Indian Chinese? Simply put, it is the Indian adaptation of Chinese cooking techniques and seasonings with a unique tadka. It’s aimed at pleasing our desi palate, with a larger offering of vegetarian dishes of course. Yes, Chinese food is the most popular foreign cuisine in India surpassing Italian or Thai. This is why a majority of restaurants dedicate a section of their menu to Chinese food. And this is not just the case in India. People across the world, especially in Malaysia, Singapore and North America, surprisingly relish this cuisine to no end (and who can blame them?).

Eating healthy is a good thing!

My carb loving friends would beg to differ but I promise you that you will feel 100 times better if you incorporate natural foods in your diet.

What are natural foods you may ask?

Basically, if you can kill it or grow it then that is natural.

Let me take that back and even say this in even more detail.

If cavemen ate it, then you should eat it. It’s the best way of living!

Anywho..When I am looking for something healthy, flavorful and fresh it is usually a salad.
