The Destination for Romance..Over at Sundance!

Did you know….

Our modern steakhouse has two direct ancestors, the beefsteak banquet and the chophouse. Both arose, interestingly enough, in mid-19th century New York City, a town that got the best beef cuts the country had to offer because only there did diners have enough money to pay for them. Beefsteak banquets were primarily men-only political affairs, held as candidate fundraisers or to celebrate a recent victory. They got their name from what was served: sliced beef tenderloin, each piece placed upon a slice of white bread like an open faced sandwich. The bread slices, however, were rarely eaten and were mainly stacked besides each plate as an informal scorekeeping system for how much beef was consumed by the participants. No self-respecting gourmand wanted to fill up on bread when there was so much beef and beer available!

Chophouses were only slightly more civilized. They appeared in New York City in the mid-1800s to cater to merchants and clerks in need of a hot meal. By all accounts, chophouses were dark and dusty affairs: one of the more celebrated houses was named “Cobweb Hall,” after the décor. These restaurants served a more diverse menu than the beefsteaks. Mutton chops, lamb kidneys and sizzling strips of bacon were all served, alongside mealy baked potatoes and the ever-present tankards of British ale. As one reporter put it, “Those who don’t care for steaks can have chops, those who don’t care for chops can have steaks.” Dessert was apple pie, mince pie or a wedge of Stilton cheese.(

Birthday celebrations always make my day.

Watching someone’s face glow while they anxiously open their gifts…

Or simply seeing the gratefulness of having a companion there with them to cling glasses of luscious red wine together.

Tonight we celebrate my wife’s birthday over steak and wine within an extravagant setting and memorable cuisine!

Let’s talk Sundance!!

So like I said, it’s my wife’s birthday and I found an exquisite place to dine to celebrate this wonderful occasion.

We arrive to a dim lighted ambiance of romance with elegant table settings and a high class surrounding.

I order an IPA with Johnny Walker Black “neat” as a starter to get this party going.

Next up for an appetizer to warm up the palate is their soothing clam chowder and crunchy calamari.

The clam chowder arrives glistening in dimmed lighting like a diamond floating in the middle of the sea with a full moon..

I’m going in..

Silky smooth texture with a super tasty broth, succulent clams and mini chunky potatoes.Yum!

Time for some calamari action..

Nice flavorful crust, with tender calamari in the middle; combined with the impactful powerfully flavored marinara sauce, this is a masterpiece in itself.

Now up, the main course!

The Unicorn of Steaks, the Prince of Plates, the Excalibur of the night..

The Rib Eye steak! Let’s do it..

I can smell it from a mile away. I glance over to the right and see my hairs standing on my arms and see this gorgeous specimen coming my way.

They place her down and she stares at me winking and blowing kisses at me.

I whispered,”I’m here with my wife, you’re making me be naughty..”

The winks keep coming, my legs keep shaking..

I want her and I want her now!!!!

I’m going in..

I grab the fork and stick it firmly in her body..

Come here!!

She enters in my mouth covered in an herb butter dress dripping down her body..

A blast of magnificent flavor instantly hits my mouth!

The succulent tender beef melts in my mouth, combined with the herb butter makes me want to cry.

She calls me in to stick her again..

Super impact on my tongue!

I need to settle down..

I was so enticed by this wonderful steak I forgot about her vulumptous friend on the table.

A plump potato with a bed of butter, sweet bacon and sour cream waiting to be devoured.

Let’s go!

Potato is thick, soft with perfect saltiness and sweetness as you bite into the juicy bacon pieces. The butter gives it that perfect amount of fat to complete the bite.

I need more steak..

More potato..

Boom! Bang! Pow!

Nothing but true live action eating! Good job Sundance!

If you are looking for a decadent ambiance for a special occasion or celebration, then I highly suggest you try Sundance. I promise you that you won’t regret it!

Thanks for joining me on today’s adventure! I look forward to seeing you on the next run! Keep hope alive!
Eating is an enjoyable way of life. Live it..Learn it..Love it!
