One of my favorite dining picks..over at Rustic!!

Did you know….

The town of Geyserville retains the ambiance of a bygone era. Located in the beautiful Alexander Valley, the town owes its name and beginnings to the discovery of geothermal springs in the Mayacamas Mountains just east of town.

The area became a tourist attraction, with the town providing lodgings and provisions for the tourists. Cattle, grain, pears, and prunes thrived in the lush valley and the area’s rich, gravelly soil proved an ideal location for wine grapes. The wine boom of the 1970s led to vineyards replacing the fruit orchards, and today the valley is a verdant sea of vines.

Main Street Geyserville still holds the charm of 100 years ago in its historic buildings. From wooden boardwalks to Wild West storefronts, Geyserville charms its visitors with world-renowned wines, contemporary restaurants, quaint bed and breakfast inns, boutiques and vintage chic mercantiles. Wine country is a great place to visit, when you want to see exquisite gardens of vines, while sipping on the finest wines.

About an hour from the Bay Area, you can make your trip to Napa or Sonoma county and begin your decadent experience to a land of beauty and relaxation.

Not only can you find magnificent wine to taste, but also breathtaking meals to pair with it.

While visiting the Francis Ford Coppola Winery, I found a hidden gem, where I officially dined on the best lamb I have ever had!!

Let’s talk Rustic

So it’s Memorial Day weekend and I wanted to treat my wife to a nice mini vacation. Sonoma seemed like a good fit, since I hadn’t visited that area yet.

I booked a room at the Geyserville Inn, which was a cosy room with a fireplace and beautiful view of the Sonoma vineyards located a couple of miles from all of the wineries.

Once we arrived, we dropped off our luggage and began our tour.

There are so many wineries to choose from, so make sure you study where you want to go.

I wanted to sip wine within a beautiful ambiance, so we made sure to visit Francis Ford Coppola and Ferrari-Carano Vineyards.

Today’s focus is Rustic within Francis Ford Coppola, so I’ll focus on that vineyard.

I must say though that Ferrari-Carano had a gorgeous artistic landscape with statues, fine art and a private elegant basement area to sip their mesmerizing wines. Definitely a must see!

Getting back to Francis Ford Coppola..

While visiting Francis Ford Coppola Winery to experience their breath-taking wine and decadent ambiance we began to become a bit famished and needed a bite to eat.

We decided to dine at a restaurant onsite called Rustic. They have a spectacular view of the Sonoma County wineries while you dine on astonishing fine dining cuisine that leaves you begging for more.

As I took another sip of their delicious cabernet my eye stopped at the description of their lamb.

Lamb Madame Bali – lamb racks marinated in pomegranate juice and white onions for three days, and then grilled on their parrilla.

I think I’ll give it a try. Let’s go!!

I tell ya…

The best lamb I ever had! Each bite was sweet with a hint of herb that paired with the lamb like a wedding dress on a new bride.

Let me tell you a little bit about the experience…

As I my eye caught her in mid landing upon my table, the sunlight danced on her oily body like shimmering light over the Alaskan waters at sunrise.

As she moved toward me slowly, my leg began to quiver in nervousness, as the wedding ceremony began between me and this succulent piece of heaven.

Now that the ceremony is over from waiter to table, I couldn’t handle the anticipation to consecrate this pairing between me and this lamb. I’m going in..

Kaploooow!

Super tender and packed with flavor! I need another taste..

Booom!!

Sweetness, goodness and full of powerful impact to the soul!

Nothing but true live action eating! Great job Rustic!!

If you are planning a vacation soon, then I highly suggest Sonoma County and be sure to stop by Rustic. I promise they won’t let you down.

Thanks for joining me on today’s adventure! I look forward to seeing you on the next run! Keep hope alive!
Eating is an enjoyable way of life. Live it..Learn it..Love it!
