The Time of Jacob’s Trouble is upon us.. Who is Jacob? – Could the meaning of “this generation” be referring to the Jewish people as a whole?

One of my Brothers in Christ texted me today to bounce some ideas from Spirit to Spirit to discuss This Generation” shall not pass from Matthew 24:34.

The Question he asked – Could the meaning of “this generation” be referring to the Jewish people as a whole?

I let him know that this was a great question and the Spirit took to the beginning of Revelation 1:10-11

10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

The Spirit said to me, “Shouldn’t Israel be here if the Tribulation was 100% about them?”

I spoke back, “Good point Lord..” and I continued to go through each Chapter of Revelation and then see the Lord address the 7 Churches, but no mention of Israel.

Until you get to Revelation 12, but I will discuss that later, so you can understand this revelation clearly..

I keep going through Chapters in Revelation and now I get to the 144,000. It discusses the Tribes coming from Israel, but not specific Judgement only for Israel related to Jacob’s Trouble..

The question is getting louder now in my spirit and doubt is forming that the Book of Revelation and these events are Judgements specific to Israel.

I continue to read about Judgements on the entire World, Babylon, Sinners, those not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, but no mention of Israel specifically or Jacob (if Jacob is Israel) for Judgement.

I get to the End of Revelation and the Lord addresses all of humanity specifically again..

Revelation 22:12-16 – NKJV

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches.

I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

Really important to catch the Word Jesus just said about Himself.. He is the Offspring of David (Israel)!

Keep in mind, we are still trying to answer the question. Who is Jacob related to Jacob’s Trouble?

We now jump to the symbolism of Jacob as representing Jesus as he worked 7 years for Rachel (Bride of Christ) and 7 years for Leah (Israel).. I did a full write up on this, so please read here and then continue..

I think after reading my study we can agree that Jacob represents Jesus..

From this understanding, the Lord took me to the Scriptures related to Jacob’s Trouble – Jeremiah 30

Jeremiah 30:10–11 NKJ

10 ‘Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,’ says the Lord,

‘Nor be dismayed, O Israel;

For behold, I will save you from afar,

And your seed from the land of their captivity.

Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet,

And no one shall make him afraid.

11 For I am with you,’ says the Lord, ‘to save you;

In verse 10, it mentions Israel’s Seed.. Who is Israel’s Seed?

In Revelation 22:16 – Jesus says, “He is the Offspring of David..”

So who is Jesus today? He is- The Body of Christ- The Church!!

The next verse in Jeremiah 30:10 states that Jacob (The Church) shall return, have rest and be quiet..

Where have we heard of the Body of Christ resting in Scripture? I’ve listed a few..

Isaiah 26:20

Take Refuge from the Coming Judgment

20 Come, my people, venter your chambers,

And shut your doors behind you;

Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment,

Until the indignation is past.

Mark 6:31

31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

Hebrews 4:9-11

9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

Matthew 11:28

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

To sum it up, Jacob’s Trouble relates to the Trouble the Church faces in the midst of Judgement based on the issues states He has with them at the beginning of Revelation.

Yes, Israel still has Tribulation they have to go through in the Gog and Magog wars, as the Church does as well. This relates to satan going after the Woman (Israel) that had the Man Child (Jesus or the Body of Christ).

Revelation 12

And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up (Harpazo) to God and His throne. Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

Both of His Brides will endure the Healthy Discipline in order that the Father may have many Children like Christ. Yeshua will demonstrate His Name as Savior to Israel and Jacob (The Church).

Hebrews 12:3-8

The Discipline of God

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:

“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”

If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

Now you may ask, how can this be Trev..

Jacob’s Name was changed to Israel..

Yes, it was.. However, this did not take place until after He did His work for the 2 Brides with Laban..

Read more below..

Jacob is renamed Israel in two different stories. When Jacob returns from living with Laban, he encounters an angel on the way and wrestles with him. In that story, Jacob asks for a blessing before releasing the angel, whom he had just defeated. The angel responds:

Gen 32:28 Said the other, “What is your name?” He replied, “Jacob.” 32:29 Said he, “Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with beings divine and human, and have prevailed.”

The new name ישראל “Israel” is a combination of the verb ש.ר.ה, “to strive with,” and a designation for God, אל. The passage uniquely describes a person successfully battling God or his messenger, a suitable folk etymology for the origin of Israel’s name.

A little later on, when Jacob arrives in Bethel, he is again named Israel:

Gen 35:9 God appeared again to Jacob on his arrival from Paddan-aram, and He blessed him. 35:10 God said to him, “You whose name is Jacob, you shall be called Jacob no more, but Israel shall be your name.” Thus He named him Israel.

Notice that Jacob (Jesus) was named Israel twice in Scriptures.. Why?

I believe this symbolizes the Church and Israel both being Redeemed by Christ and given new names. Symbolizing the New Jerusalem (Israel) in Christ. We are all ONE in Christ Jesus!

Revelation 2:17 – New King James Version

17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.”

Galatians 3:26-29 NKJV

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
