State of Emergency in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Security Council today called for a state of emergency in the country amid fears of an imminent Russian invasion.
“The Ukrainian parliament is expected to adopt this decision within 48 hours,” said Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the Ukrainian Security and National Defense Council.
The top Ukrainian security official clarified that the state of emergency will be imposed throughout the country and beyond the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, where it has been in force since 2014.
