Russia to Turkey: “Thank you for closing the Straits on US ships” – Open & Turkish Airspace in Moscow!
“We warmly thank Turkey for faithfully implementing the Montreux Treaty,” the Russian ambassador to Ankara said, referring to the phrase “and blocking the US Fleet in the Straits.” And we will explain immediately why.
Turkey recently decided not to close its airspace in Russia either. Therefore Ankara:
- It does not impose sanctions on Russia
- It closes the Straits and prevents the US Fleet from entering the Black Sea. Closing the Straits, it essentially ensures that the Russian Fleet will not face enemy NATO ships. Something we will see right now.
- It does not close the airspace to Russian aircraft as all countries have done.
Turkey is in NATO only by name, fully serving Russian interests.
