The Bible’s “Outer Darkness” – Really Means “The Darkness Outside”

In translating the Greek, some of the modern translators have noted that Jesus’ Greek phrase
that most translate as “outer darkness” is actually better translated “darkness outside”. Could
this be Jesus referring to the upcoming “three days of darkness”? Notice how Jesus uses this
phrase THREE TIMES to give a clue this is the “Three Days of Darkness”. Let examine the
ISV translation. My inclination is to assume that Jesus is actually referring to the 3 DOD.
The Faith of the Gentile Centurion:
Matthew 8: 10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and told those who were following
him, “I tell all of you with certainty, not even in Israel have I found this kind of faith! 11 I tell all
of you, many will come from east and west and will feast with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the
kingdom from heaven. 12 But the unfaithful heirs [sons] of that kingdom will be thrown into
the [3 days of] darkness outside. In that place there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
[Note – The sons of the Kingdom will not be cast into the “lake of fire” – this has to be
something else – like the 3 DOD]
The Wedding Banquet Parable:
Matthew 22: 11 “When the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not
wearing wedding clothes. 12He asked him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without wedding
clothes?’ But the man was speechless. 13 Then the king told his servants, ‘Tie his hands and feet,
and throw him into the [3 days of] darkness outside!’ In that place there will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth, 14 because many are invited, but FEW ARE CHOSEN.”
[Chosen for being a laborer in the Harvest – see Luke 10:1-2 – NOT SALVATION]
The Lazy Servant who failed to work the harvest:
Matthew 25: 26 “His master answered him, ‘You evil and lazy servant! So you knew that I
harvested where I haven’t planted and gathered where I haven’t scattered any seed? 27 Then
you should’ve invested my money with the bankers. When I returned, I would’ve received my
money back with interest.’ 28 Then the master said, ‘Take the talent from him and give it to the
man who has the ten talents,29because to everyone who has something, more will be given,
and he’ll have more than enough. But from the person who has nothing, even what he has will
be taken away from him. 30 Throw this useless servant into the [3 days of] darkness outside! In
that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”
Note – the phrase used by Jesus for “outer darkness” has nothing to do with these people being cast in
to the Lake of Fire for eternity – take all those errant commentaries and cast them aside…
Prophetic Words & Vision about the Three Days of Darkness:
“There is an earthquake coming, My daughter, that will precede the 3 days of darkness. The
earthquake will happen and then the 3 days of darkness will descend.” (from Bon’s Blog)
“A great earthquake will be felt by many upon the Earth. This is the warning that the Days of
Darkness are about to occur. After the earthquake happens, you have but a short time to
enter into your places of safety I have prepared for you. When the darkness begins to fall, you
should be inside your places of safety”. (from Edamosamos)
