According to the latest information, two Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopters flying at a very low altitude penetrated Russian airspace at a depth of 30 km and fired rockets.
The Ukrainians hit Russian military targets, including fuel depots, eight Russian Army tankers, and a neighboring factory.
The blasts rocked the Krasny Oktyabr district of Belgorod. Emergency vehicles, firefighting helicopters have been rushing to the area, fighting the flames from the early hours of the morning.
Kremlin spokesman N. Peshkov said he had been informed by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the Ukrainian strike on Russian soil. He noted that “measures are being taken to reorganize the supply chain so that the current shock does not affect the level of fuel supply.”
