The Admiral Makarov frigate of the Admiral Grigorovich class of the Black Sea Fleet is said to have been hit by a Ukrainian Neptune rocket.
The information has not been officially confirmed so far, but there is a lot of mobility in the area, while photos show black smoke from the Russian frigate.
The frigate is said to have caught fire near the island of Zmiiny in the Black Sea.
Ships and aircraft are operating in the area while NATO drones are monitoring the area.
If the strike is confirmed, it will be the second major loss since the sinking of the Moskva cruiser.
This is one of the newest vessels of the Russian Navy. It was launched in 2012 and launched in 2017.
