Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking to AKP lawmakers, announced the launch of a major Turkish military operation in northern Syria with the initial target in the cities of Tal Rifaat and Manbij. Other areas will follow.
The Turks have already bombed the French factory Lafarge, sending a message to France and the USA. This means that Erdogan is going head-to-head with the West. He also said this in his speech, emphasizing that “we will see who are our enemies and who are our friends”.
At the same time, the Turks hit a medical center in Tal Rifaat, northeastern Aleppo, with a drone.
However, it is impossible for a Turkish military operation to take place in these cities without Russia’s approval. And in order for Erdogan to announce it at the AKP meeting, Russia and Turkey probably “found it” and that is why he disregards the US warnings.
The Lafarge factory was bombed
Turkish media report that the Turkish Armed Forces bombed the French factory Lafarge.
The Turks say the French plant is “the headquarters of the ISIS and PKK terrorist organizations as well as the US and French intelligence services in northern Syria.”
At the same time, according to Turkish sources, it supplied the PKK with materials such as cement for its tunnel network.
