The Americans sent a double message to Ankara a few hours after the very clear warning of the Congress to refrain from any operation in Northern Syria.
US forces entered the town of Kamisli in support of the Kurds while the US conducted a military operation inside the Turkish Zone in Syria.
Both moves by Washington will increase tensions in US-Turkish relations, as the Americans do not retreat from areas where the Turkish military operation will take place. The exact opposite happened.

American helicopters headed for the Turkish-occupied village of al-Humayrah in the northern countryside of Aleppo, Syria.
The U.S. military says a car bomb had exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Jarablus, killing at least six people.
The helicopters, a combination of Black Hawks and Chinooks, were targeted by Turkish-backed Islamists as they headed for al-Humayrah.
Clashes erupted during the raid as Islamists opened fire on Americans. In total, the American operation lasted seven minutes.
Fighters and helicopters flew over al-Humayrah and neighboring Turkish-occupied areas. However, no airstrikes were reported.
After the end of the raid, the helicopters were withdrawn in northeastern Syria, specifically to the base of the Lafarge factory in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo.
