Russia does not believe US assurances about the peaceful nature of the Pentagon’s biological research, said Igor Kirillov, head of the Russian Armed Forces’ Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces.
“After the broken promises of the collective West for the expansion of NATO to the east, we cannot accept the word of the USA regarding the peaceful nature of the biological research conducted by the Pentagon,” he said characteristically.
American biological research in Ukraine is not interested in the pressing problems of that country’s health care system, but is aimed at studying pathogens, the use of which can pass as natural outbreaks, the Russian lieutenant general argued, according to Tass.
Dangerous diseases
The Russian Armed Forces announced on Saturday (3/9/2022):
“The focus of the investigation carried out by the Pentagon has nothing to do with the current public health problems of Ukraine, that is, with socially important diseases such as measles, rubella, tuberculosis and AIDS.
Evidence from laboratories shows interest in an entirely different series, namely cholera, tularemia, plague, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, and Hanta viruses.
These pathogens were studied in the framework of the so-called Ukrainian laboratories UP and Tap.’
According to Kirillov, US military biologists are eager to study these pathogens because they have natural foci in both Ukraine and Russia, and their use can be concealed.

“Volunteers” may have been infected with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus, handaviruses and the leptospirosis pathogen as part of Ukraine’s research program, Igor Kirillov reported.

The general explained that the witnesses, questioned during the parliamentary investigation conducted by Russia, confirmed the facts of the tests on military personnel and socially vulnerable groups of Ukrainian citizens.
