The Pentagon chief spoke with Minister of Defense Alexey Reznikov to “reaffirm the unwavering US commitment to support Ukraine’s ability to counter Russian aggression,” according to the readout of the call.
Russia has informed the United Nations and the West that any detonation of a “dirty bomb” in Ukraine would be considered “nuclear terrorism” and would therefore trigger the Russian defense doctrine of nuclear deterrence.
Simply put, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his government will consider the use of a “dirty bomb” against Russian forces in Ukraine as a first nuclear strike against the Russian Federation.
In this context, Moscow’s ambassador to the United Nations sent a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the UN Security Council.
This information, which literally causes shock, has been circulating in the last few hours from Russian sources. Unfortunately, however, it has a basis. Any detonation of an enhanced dirty bomb targeting Russian forces would be seen as a nuclear first strike against Russian forces and would bring the region even closer to the brink.
There are three more worrying developments that suggest we may be on the verge of nuclear disaster:
1. Russia put its radio-chemical warfare forces on high alert yesterday.
2. The Russian Army begins the annual nuclear exercise “GROM”. Although this exercise takes place every year, however, the time it will be held is unnatural. The exercise is held in the Spring, not the Fall, and certainly not now. 3. Consequently, Russia accelerated the nuclear exercise. In fact, he issued a NOTAM for launching ICBMs from Plesetsk and SLBMs from the coast of the Kola Peninsula towards the Kura firing range. The exercise starts tomorrow until October 29.
3.American officials have confirmed for the first time that ” there are new, disturbing developments concerning Russia’s nuclear arsenal”. The statement was made a few hours ago.
