Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu fired back at Washington for cooperating with Kurdish militias in Syria, rejecting US condolences for yesterday’s deadly explosion in Istanbul.
In fact, according to the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, Soylu equated the US, due to its cooperation with the Kurdish militias in the fight against ISIS, with the “murderer who is the first to appear at the scene of the crime”.
Soylu accused the Kurdish forces that control much of northeastern Syria — whom Ankara calls “terrorists” — of being behind yesterday’s attack.
