Russia’s defense minister said the armed forces will now have to use new advanced weapons systems in the conflict in Ukraine.
“We must continue the modernization and creation of promising systems with their consequent use during the special military operation, “ Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting of generals at the Defense Ministry.
Shoigu, one of President Vladimir Putin’s closest allies, did not specify which advanced weapons would be used, although he said he wanted to discuss with generals new ways to improve artillery and missile strikes.
In Ukraine, Shoigu said, anti-artillery fire is being improved using long-range rocket systems such as the Tornado-S and powerful “Malka” artillery systems.
“This makes it possible to effectively hit foreign rocket and artillery systems,” Shoigu said. His remarks were broadcast on Russian state television.
Shoigu is likely referring to the new KUB , LANCET and Orion kamikaze and surveillance drones as well as the BMPT Terminator. They have also attempted Su-57 fighters while videos that have been published show the preparation of T-14 Armata.
The war in Ukraine, possibly Europe’s deadliest since World War II, has killed tens of thousands of people on both sides and fueled fears of a much wider conflict between the US-led NATO alliance and Russia.
The Tribulation is commencing…
