The finger on the trigger is now the Serbs as they face their most serious challenge in recent years. Last night, hundreds of Albanian policemen from southern Mitrovica entered during the night the northern part of the city, where the Serb population is a majority.
Serbia condemned this operation, describing it as an “invasion”.
According to Belgrade, the final plan of the Americans for the delivery of this entire Serbian province into Albanian hands and the expulsion of the Serbian inhabitants was implemented.
Strong police forces were also deployed in other areas of northern Kosovo. The situation is tense and serious incidents have started to occur.
Kosovo’s Interior Minister Jelal Svetsia announced that “this is a conventional police force that does not carry heavy weapons and whose mission is to ensure law and order, the protection of citizens and their property.”
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić wrote in a post on Instagram, “Everything seems normal, but the situation is critical.” Vucic published a photo during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Miloš Vučević and General Milan Mojsilović.
The vice-president of the Serbian List, Igor Simic, said that since the morning the situation in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica is “relatively calm but tense”.
Simic told Serbian Radio and Television that some of the Kosovo Police units that entered the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica last night were still deployed on the outskirts of the city.
“Another sleepless night is behind us because of Pristina’s attempt to seize the northern part of Kosovo-Metohija. To someone from the outside, it may seem that the situation is normal since this morning, but here we are boiling.
The plan of (Prime Minister of the Kosovo government) Albin Kurti is clear, to put such pressure on the Serbs to withdraw from these areas,” said Simic.
