A New Year’s toast that shows a lot about the point the Ukrainian issue has reached was made by Putin.
“Russia has reached the point where it must either give up everything or fight. But we can’t give up, we have to move forward, “ the Russian president said on New Year’s Eve.
He was talking to military personnel while visiting the Southern Military District.
“Russia has been pushed into this line. Either give it all up or fight. But as long as we have people like you – and the boys and girls who stand by you – of course, we can’t give up anything. We just have to fight, just go ahead – wisely and calmly,” said the Russian head of state.
The President drew attention to the fact that much more needs to be done.
“There are a lot of things to look at from the point of view of modern armed combat, especially on land. They need ammunition, high-precision weapons – it’s clear,” he said.
Putin stated that in the current situation, the armed struggle is a necessity and ” there is simply no way to do it” without the active support of the people.
“Take care of yourselves,” he advised the military.
