Fierce fighting is taking place on the last escape route of Ukrainian forces from Bakhmut. This is the highway that leads to the area of Chasiv Yar (on the map in blue).
The Ukrainian Command sent a reinforced Battalion of the 63rd ombr of the Armed Forces from Kramatorsk to the lvanovsky (Krasny) region to prevent the advance of Wagner PMC forces in the direction of Chasiv Yar.
Probably before the end of the week the Russians will have closed the last escape route of the Ukrainian Army from Bakhmut.
There are reports that Russian forces broke through Ukrainian defense lines in the southwestern suburbs of Krasne and came within 200 meters of the intersection leading to the settlement of Chasiv Yar.
In the video, a Ukrainian soldier says:
“We got out of this hell.
Bahamut, everything is on fire.
We barely left in small groups..
We lost the kids today, In half an hour 4 were
wounded and two were killed. We’re the only ones left. This is our team.
Let’s get out of here
Hell, it’s just hell. Guys, it’s hell, I say.
In the video below another Ukrainian soldier shows what’s left of an infantry battalion trying to rest and officers shouting at them to go to the front line
“We can’t go.
“The battalion is decimated, Don’t take us there. Tell the higher ups on the wireless
“We have become cannon fodder”, “we want to fight but how many of us are left”
