March’s full moon: Last Winter Moon for 2023 on Purim! The Glory flies Away.. Judgment Commences on the Unrepentant..

The final full moon of winter will light up the sky this week, and it coincides with another special opportunity for sky-watchers.

Named the worm moon by Native American tribes in the 18th century in reference to different creatures emerging from their winter hideouts to welcome spring, the March moon will reach peak illumination at 7:42 a.m. ET Tuesday, March 7, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac. But someone looking up at the right moment could catch a stunning planetary phenomenon, too.

“What is a little more interesting now, and also visible tonight and this week, are the close and prominent positioning of Venus and Jupiter in the western sky right after sunset,” said Mike Hankey, operations manager for the American Meteor Society, via email. “The astronomical word for this is ‘conjunction.’ These planets will be setting as the moon is rising, so they are only visible for about an hour at sunset, near the western horizon.”

Annular-total solar eclipse of April 20, 2023
The eclipse ends at sunset in the Pacific Ocean just above the equator near the International Date Line. This eclipse begins as an annular solar eclipse, quickly transitions to a total solar eclipse, and ends as an annular solar eclipse.
The 50th birthday of Adolf Hitler on 20 April 1939 was celebrated as a national holiday throughout Nazi Germany.
According to the Book of Genesis he was one of the five sons of Shem (the son of Noah).[1] He is the twelfth name of the Genesis genealogy that traces Abraham’s ancestry from Adam to Terah (cf. Luke 3:36–38). Beginning with Adam, nine Antediluvian names are given that predate Noah and the Flood, and nine postdiluvian, beginning with Noah’s eldest son Shem and ending with Terah.[2]

Esther 9
New King James Version
The Jews Destroy Their Tormentors
9 Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day, the time came for the king’s command and his decree to be executed. On the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, the opposite occurred, in that the Jews themselves overpowered those who hated them. 2 The Jews gathered together in their cities throughout all the provinces of King Ahasuerus to lay hands on those who sought their harm. And no one could withstand them, because fear of them fell upon all people. 3 And all the officials of the provinces, the satraps, the governors, and all those doing the king’s work, helped the Jews, because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them. 4 For Mordecai was great in the king’s palace, and his fame spread throughout all the provinces; for this man Mordecai became increasingly prominent. 5 Thus the Jews defeated all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, with slaughter and destruction, and did what they pleased with those who hated them.

6 And in Shushan[a] the [b]citadel the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men. 7 Also Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha, 8 Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha, 9 Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai, and Vajezatha— 10 the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews—they killed; but they did not lay a hand on the [c]plunder.

R. Mordechai Sasson, in his sefer דבר בעתו in the section called “רמזי מגלה”, explains that Haman symbolizes the Yetzer Harah (evil inclination), and his ten sons allude to its ten bad character traits. Their death, brought about by Mordechai and Esther, represents the nullification of such evil traits by being overpowered by the Yetzer Tov (good inclination). He goes through the ten sons, and explains the meaning of each name and how each corresponds to a particular type of evil:

פרשנדתא (Parshandasa) — the Yetzer Harah distances (מפריש) a person from the Torah (דתא).
דלפון (Dalphon) — it is a דלת (door) to פניות רעות (bad intentions): it makes a person who is performing a Mitzvah do so with wrong intentions.
אספתא (Aspasa) — means “gathering” — the Yetzer Harah gives a person the desire to gather piles of money so that he will have no time for Torah study and performing Mitzvos.
פורתא (Porasa) — פורת spelt backwards is תורף, a word used by the Talmud to indicate a woman’s private parts — the Yetzer Harah makes a person desire to gaze at uncovered women.
אדליא (Adalia) — from lifted up (דלה) — feelings of haughtiness and arrogance.
ארידתא (Aridasa) — the Yetzer Harah appears to a person praying like a lion (ארי) to distract him.
פרמשתא (Parmashta) — it rips apart (פורם) the strong connection (שתי, literally criss-cross of a garment) that exists between fellow Jews.
אריסי (Arisai) — it continuously poisons a person with the venom (ארס) of the snake.
ארידי (Aridai) — the evil that subjugates (רודה) a righteous person with suffering and worries about his livelihood.
ויזתא (Vaizasa) — the bitterness of the olive (זית) — symbolizing bitter and strong judgement.

Sheerah is a woman in the Hebrew Bible appearing only in 1 Chronicles 7:24, where it says that she built three cities: Lower and Upper Beth-horon, and Uzzen-sheerah. She is the daughter of Ephraim, and her brothers are Shuthelah, Bered, Tahath, Eleadah, Zabad, Beriah, Rephah, Resheph, Telah, Tahan, Ladan, Ammihud, Elishama, Nun, and Joshua. [1]

Herbert Lockyer suggests that she “must have been a woman of physical power,”[2] while Antje Labahn and Ehud Ben Zvi note that “her prestige remained in the community” since one of the cities (Uzzen-sheerah) carried her name.[3]
Jacob’s blessing of Manasseh and Ephraim
Prior to Jacob’s death, his son Joseph brought his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim to Jacob so he could bless them (Genesis 48:1-6). In an unusual but perceptive move, Jacob placed his right hand on the younger boy, Ephraim, and his left hand on the older boy, Manasseh (verse 14). Normally, his right hand, representing a greater blessing, would have gone on the older child.

In blessing them and in explaining to Joseph that he knew what he was doing, Jacob said, “‘I know, my son, I know. He [Manasseh] also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.’ So he blessed them that day, saying, ‘By you Israel will bless, saying, “May God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!”’ And thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh” (verses 19-20).

Looking at modern history, we note that Britain became a great commonwealth of nations with an empire that stretched around the globe, while the United States became a great individual nation.

John 4:14
New King James Version
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

Acts 3:8
New King James Version
8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

Acts 14:10-12
New King James Version
10 said with a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked. 11 Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!” 12 And Barnabas they called [a]Zeus, and Paul, [b]Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.
