Experts fear that DAS mpox virus may have mutated, making it resistant to the sting.
It comes after 59 per cent of people in a new MPOX outbreak in France tested positive for the bug despite claiming to be fully vaccinated.
The monkeypox virus may have mutated, making it resistant to vaccination.
While vaccination does not offer complete protection against the virus, only 23 percent of people are typically vaccinated.
The high vaccine uptake rate in the French cluster – 10 out of 17 – together with the high vaccination efficiency rate has raised fears of mutation.
Those affected by the current outbreak in France are men between the ages of 24 and 56.
“No parties or events common to the cases have been identified,” the French health agency said. “Nobody had to be hospitalized.”
The investigation into how the virus might have mutated and the effectiveness of the vaccine is ongoing, the French health agency told The Telegraph.
