The North Korean leadership gave the Russian Defense Minister, S. Shoigu, and the Russian high-ranking delegation a rock star reception, and already the clouds are gathering menacingly over Kiev.

A Chinese delegation also arrived in North Korea. Everything indicates that a tripartite meeting between Russia-China-North Korea will take place.

The best case scenario for the West will be for North Korea to send only thousands to millions of artillery shells. The worst thing is to send North Korean soldiers, a fact that the Russians had put on the table months ago, as WarNews247 had revealed.

Be that as it may, Russia is preparing a “Mega” attack and for that it needs artillery stocks from North Korea and Chinese weapons which it will also procure through Pyongyang.

This is also shown by the Russian Duma’s move to pass bills that call for “general conscription” for a “great war” that is just around the corner.

In North Korea, Sergei Shoigu: “Defense cooperation will be strengthened”!

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has traveled to North Korea to attend events marking the 70th anniversary of the armistice that ended the Korean War, North Korean state media said today.

“A military delegation of the Russian Federation under Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will pay a congratulatory visit to the DPRK,” North Korea’s official KCNA news agency reported.

A day earlier the same agency confirmed that a Chinese delegation will also attend the events tomorrow Thursday.

We remind you that the Russian delegation led by the Minister of Defense was invited to Pyongyang on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the end of the war on the Korean Peninsula. In the historiography of the DPRK, this event is designated as the Victory Day of the Korean People in the Patriotic War of Liberation of 1950-1953.

In the hours Sergei Shoigu has spent so far in the North Korean capital, he has laid flowers at the monuments erected in honor of Korea’s liberation. The monument in Pyongyang appeared in 1946 as a sign of gratitude to Soviet soldiers for liberating the country from Japanese occupation.

Sergei Shoigu also laid flower baskets at the memorials of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. Russian Defense Minister in Pyongyang holds talks with his Korean counterpart Kang Sun Nam.

North Korea is our important partner, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu asserted during the meeting he had in Pyongyang with his North Korean counterpart, Kang Sun Nam.

“The DPRK is an important partner of Russia, with which we are connected by a common border and a rich history of cooperation,” said Shoigu, who called North Korea a friendly state of Russia.

Shoigu stressed that Russia wants to strengthen its defense cooperation with North Korea.

“I am convinced that today’s talks will help strengthen cooperation between our defense services ,” Sergei Shoigu said in a statement released by the Russian Defense Ministry via Telegram.

The Russian general did not specify how the two countries would strengthen military cooperation, but stressed that North Korea is a key partner of Russia, citing a ” shared border and a rich history of cooperation.”

It also said bilateral relations had improved after the Korean War, while the statement cited “warship visits, high-ranking defense officials, working-level delegation exchanges and personnel training” as factors that “contributed to maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.”

Bloomberg: Russian Interest in Ammunition

Russia may be interested in buying 152mm artillery shells from North Korea that are compatible with Soviet-era weapons, Bloomberg points out.

The agency notes that the Russian Federation, as part of the military special operation in Ukraine, spends thousands of ammunition per day and is forced to look for new sources of supplies.

From this point of view, North Korea seems like a good partner, as it has a vast stockpile of shells.

Bloomberg admits that Pyongyang will not miss the opportunity to sell some of its reserves at a high price. How much money North Korea receives will depend on its leaders’ ability to negotiate. For example, if North Korea sells shells for $1,000, then sending 250,000 missiles would be equivalent to about 1% of its GDP.

The agency notes that this is a conservative estimate, as high demand has driven up prices, and NATO’s 155mm projectiles cost around $3,000.

The North Korean Central News Agency (CTAC) said that upon the Russian delegation’s arrival at Sunan International Airport on the outskirts of Pyongyang, Sergei Shoigu was greeted with thunderous applause. In the parking lot in front of the terminal, the flags of the two countries were flying, while there was also an honor guard. One of North Korea’s female soldiers presented the Russian minister with a bouquet of flowers.

The Russian delegation also expressed “fighting greetings and full support.” S. Soigu was met by the Minister of Defense of the DPRK, Kang Sun Nam, the head of the Main Political Directorate of the KPA, Chon Gyeong-taek, and the chief of the General Staff of the KPA, Park Soo-il.

The visit of the Russians to the CTC itself was called a mission of friendship between the army and the people of the Russian Federation, which “will significantly contribute to the strengthening and development of strategic and traditional friendly relations between Korea and Russia, firmly connected to the common path of anti-imperialism and independence”.

North Korea to begin ‘major deliveries of military aid to Russia’

Western politicians and analysts openly fear that the DPRK will begin “major deliveries of military aid to Russia.”

Particular concerns about this prevail in the United States, the European Union and the Kiev camp. Concerns are linked to North Korea’s “ability to supply Russia with large volumes of munitions.”

The American, European and Ukrainian press believe that such deliveries are possible and that “they can significantly change the situation on the front”.
