Israel is experiencing an unprecedented tragedy as a result of the failure of the Israeli secret services to inform about a major impending surprise attack by the Islamists of Hamas and other organizations.
The videos from Israel are unprecedented in the country’s history. Hamas is running a large-scale complex operation and Israel didn’t even have information.

Israel: Captives and damaged armored vehicles from Hamas surprise attack
The Islamist group Hamas launched its biggest attack on Israel in years today, in a surprise move that saw gunmen cross the border and a barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip.
Israel’s military has declared a state of war, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling an emergency meeting of security officials.
Today’s episode was the most serious since the 10-day war between Israel and Hamas in 2021, with Israeli media reporting clashes between Palestinian militant groups and security forces in towns in southern Israel.
Mohammed Deif, a senior Hamas military commander, announced the launch of the operation on Hamas media, calling on Palestinians everywhere to fight.
“This is the day of the biggest battle to end the last occupation on earth,” he said, adding that 5,000 rockets had been fired.
Israeli media reported that gunmen opened fire on passers-by in the southern Israeli city of Sderot, while videos circulating on social media appeared to show clashes on city streets as well as gunmen in jeeps driving through the countryside.
Palestinian media also reported that a number of Israelis were taken prisoner by militants while Hamas media released video that appeared to show a damaged Israeli armored car.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said he would meet with senior security officials in the coming hours, while Defense Minister Yoav Gallad approved the mobilization of reservists.
Israel: Rocket fire from Gaza
Alarms sounded earlier today Saturday for several minutes in the southern areas around Gaza and the greater Tel Aviv area in Israel for rocket attacks by the Palestinians.
“We are in a state of war, at the moment there are 21 active operations in the south,” said a police commander, while according to reports, armed militants are storming homes and taking hostages.
Under these circumstances, the government will hold an emergency meeting at 5 pm (Israel time).
Explosions were heard in cities around Tel Aviv and outside Jerusalem in Israel, with the military not immediately releasing details of their origin, but images from Reuters showed extensive destruction and rocket fire.
Gaza residents said they heard gunfire along the fence with Israel near the southern city of Khan Younis and saw movements of armed fighters. Meanwhile, according to reports, militants entered a police station in the city of Sderot and exchanged fire with the police.
The Israeli Ambulance Service said teams had been sent to areas in southern Israel near Gaza and that residents had been warned to stay indoors. However, there were no immediate details on possible victims.
At least one rocket directly hit a building in the Gederot regional council, killing a woman in her 60s, according to Magen David Adom. The IDF (Israeli Armed Forces) began operating in the Gaza Strip.
“The IDF declares a state of readiness for war,” the military said in a statement. “There have been widespread rocket attacks on Israeli territory from Gaza and terrorists have infiltrated Israeli territory from various entry points. Residents in the south and center of the country must be near protected areas, while those in the Gaza Strip must remain within a safe area.”
The Israeli Armed Forces said the chief of staff was on Saturday morning conducting an assessment of the situation and approved plans for the continuation of IDF operations. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant approved the mobilization of reserve soldiers in accordance with the requirements of the IDF. “Hamas is the dominant entity in the Gaza Strip responsible for this attack and will bear the consequences and responsibility for the events,” the IDF said.
