Dangerous developments are taking place on the Georgia-Russia border as Moscow has claimed that a sabotage and reconnaissance group with NATO weapons has entered Abkhazia. A few hours ago, Russian soldiers opened fire and killed a Georgian for the first time since 2008.
Both episodes, one still ongoing, occurred within 24 hours.
According to Russian sources, security forces are looking for 7 armed people in the area of Azanta village, Gulrypsh. All roads leading to the city of Sukhumi have been blocked and there is increased security, Interior Ministry chief Robert Kiut said.
“The men were armed with foreign weapons, possibly M-4 weapons, wearing black uniforms, masks, helmets and well equipped. They also had a helicopter flying over the area,” de facto Home Secretary Robert Cutt said.
It is noteworthy that the well-known Russian Vladimer Solovyov claimed that a sabotage group from Georgia, consisting of up to 50 people, infiltrated Abkhazia to carry out a “terrorist” attack on the Sukhumi airport.
Russian channels claimed that units of the Russian armed forces and “other security forces deployed in Abkhazia” have been put on alert.
NATO has sounded the alarm. NATO Officials speak of a “Russian False Flag operation” in Abkhazia which is related to Georgia’s contacts with the EU and NATO and the recent announcement of the creation of a permanent naval base in Abkhazia.
Perhaps we are at the beginning of a story that may lead to a third front after Ukraine and Gaza.

N. Ossetia: Blood was shed, with the involvement of Russians, for the 1st time since 2008!
A Georgian man was killed by Russian soldiers deployed along the unrecognized border between the Moscow-backed breakaway province of South Ossetia and territories under the control of Georgian armed forces, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Prime Minister Garibashvili said one Georgian citizen was shot and killed, while another was captured by Russian soldiers near the village of Kirbali, a short distance from the de facto border.
“My brother was at the cemetery to light a candle on our parents’ grave. Then he went up to the church to pray and was shot on the way back,” said the victim’s brother.
This is the first murder incident in the region since the Russia-Georgia war in August 2008.
Arrests of civilians along unrecognized borders are common. After the brief 2008 war, Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, also a breakaway Georgian province.
Russian sources are claiming the security forces of Abkhazia are searching for a group of seven people "armed with Western assault rifles and a copter." Presumably, a "sabotage group" was discovered that had penetrated the border from Georgia. pic.twitter.com/5zt81iSinQ

Russia plans to build a naval base in AbkhaziaWe remind you that a month ago Russia announced that it is planning a naval base on the shores of the Black Sea, specifically in the region of Abkhazia, the leader of the region said according to the newspaper Izvestiya, a day after meeting with President Vladimir Putin.Aslan Bzania, the self-proclaimed president of the Russian-backed breakaway region, said an agreement had been signed for a permanent naval base in the Ohamchira region.”We signed an agreement and in the near future there will be a permanent base of the Russian navy in the Ohamchira region,” Bzania told Izvestiya.
“All this is aimed at increasing the level of defense capability of both Russia and Abkhazia, and this kind of interaction will continue ,” he said.
“There are also things I can’t talk about.”Russia recognized Abkhazia and another breakaway region, South Ossetia, as independent states in 2008 after Russian troops repelled a Georgian attempt to retake South Ossetia in a five-day war that ended on August 12, 2008.Georgia is worried about Russian plans…Immediately afterwards, Georgia expressed its “concern” about the upcoming creation of a Russian naval base in Abkhazia as it considers it a “violation” of its sovereignty, the Georgian Foreign Ministry announced.”Such actions constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity” of Georgia and “a provocation aimed at legitimizing the illegal occupation of Abkhazia”, the ministry underlined, expressing its “concern”.
